Why is my cat limping and crying when I touch his front paw?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered

My car came into the house about half an hour ago and not walking on 4 pass. He will not put weight on his front right paw. From his shoulder to his elbow area is fine but when I got to check his paw he meows in pain. Every time he moves or light pressure is applied by him moving he meows in pain.

It sounds like he hurts pretty bad! If there is an emergency clinic available in your area I would recommend having him seen tonight, otherwise I would try to get him in to your regular veterinarian tomorrow morning. Trauma and potentially infection or abscess are high on my list of possible problems. They may recommend an x-ray. Good luck and I hope he improves soon!
