My stray kitten's paw is scabby, losing hair. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | 4 lbs

I found a stray kitten in my front yard. It looks to be maybe 5 months old I'm guessing. One of her paws was really scabby around one of her nails and how her paw is almost completely bald. She's losing the hair on her paw in chunks. The hair is attached to what looks like scabs and it just comes right off. It doesnt seem to be hurting her. Should I be concerned?

This sounds like it is an infection either from trauma or allergies since it is falling off in chunks. You can try to gently brush or clean the area since it does not hurt her. If it is not improving then she may need antibiotics from a vet
