My cat has a bald patch with red bumps. Could it be an allergy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 6 lbs

My cat has a patch of hair that seems to be shaven with little red bumps. I have gone over her with a fine tooth comb and have not seen any flea residue or fleas so wondering what it might be.

This looks like an allergy. If you do not see fleas then it maybe from something in the environment. Because it is so large there are no topicals you place without her licking it off. Your vet can take a skin sample and prescribe medicine to help
