My kitten's tongue is out, looks burned, and has bad breath. Why?

Hey, my kitten has been keeping his tongue out. Checked his toungue and saw what looks like burns. It's been going on for about a week now, and has developed terrible breath. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 month and 8 days old | 5 lbs

This sounds like stomatitis/gingivitis with the ulceration in the mouth and tongue which can be very painful for a cat. Antiinflammatory medication prescribed by your vet and oral rinses to reduce the bacteria load in the mouth can help ease the discomfort and reduce the bad breath
