Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are many options available depending on how much you want to spend and how you want to administer it and how often. Let's start with the topical products which get applied to the skin along the back from the neck to the tail in big dogs like Duke. Frontline Plus, Effitix, Revolution, Advantix, Vectra 3D, etc are all topicals that get applied every 30 days. The oral products include Capstar (24 hour activity only), Comfortis and Nexgard (every 30 days), and Bravecto (every 90 days). There is one good collar on the market called Seresto which Bayer makes. It lasts 8 months. All of these products are good options but you need to use something specific for your geographical location since not all of these products are effective against fleas and ticks. It's best to discuss the various options listed above (and there are more options not listed) with your vet and get their opinion to what they think is effective in your area. Some products might not work as well in certain areas of the country. Good luck with Duke.
