Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If your pet is feeling very well, eating & drinking normally, then an occasional dark stool may be normal. Stool can be temporarily colored by dyes in food & treats, plant material & some medications. If this is an ongoing occurrence, then I would have Lexi checked out, just to make sure. A stool that is very dark & has a tarry appearance could be an indication of blood. Take care.
