My dog keeps itching after flea treatment. Is it allergies or mange?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 27 days old | 24 lbs

What does this look like to you? My little girl had fleas, pretty badly. I treated the house and her multiple times. She keeps itching, and I now think this is something else. Please note, we frequently go to the local dog park

I would strongly recommend that Bailey have a veterinary exam. This may be allergies, fleas, sarcoptic or demodex mange or a yeast or bacterial infection. The vet may do a skin cytology or skin scrape to determine the cause of her itching and prescribe the best medications to treat. Good luck and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
