Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog is 2 months old and I am beginning to think that she has sleeping seizure because her body flushes while she is sleeping. Also her nose is dry and her gums are light pink.

I believe from what your are describing that tour dog is most likely having movements while he dreams. Dogs go through three sleep stages, similarly to humans; NREM, non-rapid eye movement; REM, rapid eye movement; and SWS, short-wave sleep. It is in the SWS stage that a dog breathes heavily while he is sleeping and may possibly have movements of his body. Before and after a siezure you may also notice strange behaviours in your dog, such as distraction or walking in circles. During a siezure dogs do things like foam at the mouth, twitch, drool, chomp, collapse, and make paddling motions with their legs. It’s also not uncommon for dogs to urinate or defecate I hope that is helpful!
