Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 10 lbs
Hi, I have a male yorkie, he's 1 year and 5 months old. My family and I left the house early, and returned a couple of hours ago and he had vomited all around the house (white and green liquids), he drank some water and immediately threw it up. My local vet told me to give him pepto bismol, retreiving food and water. I did that about an hour ago. Ten minutes ago he got up and drank water (he's probably deshidrated) and then threw it up with the pepto. What can I do? He's just sleeping.

Hi, sorry to hear Anakin is feeling sick. You can try to fast him for a while- take away food and water for about 8 hours to let him stomach settle. Then try a small amount of water. If he keeps that down, try boiled chicken and rice in small amounts. I don't know that the pepto will do much for his vomiting. If at any time during the 8 hour period he continues to vomit, he needs to see a vet. If he is very lethargic, not responding to you, or having trouble breathing he needs to go to the vet as soon as possible. There is no home treatment. He may need an x ray or some blood work to see what is wrong with him. Good luck I hope this helps!
