Why is my kitten still wheezing after a month? Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered

I've had my kitten for a month now. And when I got him he had this wheezing problem that I thought would go away but it hasn't. I don't know if its major or if its just a permanent respiratory problem that's minor. Any suggestions or useful tips would be appreciated!!

Respiratory infections are extremely common in kittens and can often cause congestion and wheezing, so it's likely that this may be the problem - if so, it should be treatable with antibiotics. I would recommend having Adolf examined by a vet as soon as you are able to. If he does have an infection, your vet will prescribe antibiotics to treat it which should resolve the wheezing :)
