Why does my old cat have a red, sore scab with no fur near his ear?

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | neutered | 5 lbs

My cat is male and getting old he has a red scab next to his ear the side of his head it has no fur on it and is red and the skin around it looks sore

It's very likely that he has done it to himself by scratching his ear, which usually happens when a cat has an ear infection. you need to take him to the vet in order to get it checked and treated, he will probably need an antibiotic ear drops.

    I am sorry Eric isn't feeling well. Sometimes if they have ear infections they can scratch their ears and create hairloss and scabbing. I would recommend having a veterinarian look at the lesion and inside the ear to make sure there is no infection. Otherwise it could be a bacterial or fungal infection on his skin.
