My dog has a patch on his nose. Is it serious? Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 4 days old | 20 lbs

I know that dog noses are able to goback and forth between wet and dry, but my dog has this patch on top of his nose, it doesn't seem to bother him I was just concerned if it's anything serious or worthy of a vet visit.

I would not be concerned with this at the moment, it is likely due to a small scratch. Continue to monitor for any spreading however which may indicate an underlying cause such as fungal infection or generalized skin disease
