Why is my dog chattering his teeth and acting unusually quiet?

My dog's teeth/mouth is chattering every now and then and he's quieter than normal

Poor pup! Chattering of the teeth like this can be a sign of dental pain, such as from an infected or fractured tooth, or could be caused by a neurologic problem of some kind. The fact that he's quieter than normal means that he is likely in pain or not feeling well. I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to - he/she can do a complete oral and neurologic exam to help determine the problem and see what needs to be done to treat it.
