Best recommendation is to withdraw food for 12-24 hours. If the vomiting stops, resume feeding her normal cat food in smaller, more frequent meals. If the vomiting does not stop, beat recommendation is to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. She may be getting dehydrated and your vet may want to do some diagnostic testing. She may also benefit from medications to stop the vomiting. Cats can vomit for lots of reasons, such as organ dysfunction, gastrointestinal problems, or foreign bodies. Sometimes cats can vomit for (what seems like) no reason at all. It's important to rule out the more serious causes.

I would recommend taking her to the vet at this point. Over 48 hours of vomiting, and not eating for more than 24 hours are both reasons to be evaluated. There are many many potential causes for this, so your vet will start with a general exam, and then move on to blood work and/or x-rays if needed. I hope she's back to normal soon!

Hello. When we see vomiting, it is always prudent to give the gut a bit of a rest by withholding food at least 12 hours past the last vomiting period. If he stops vomiting for the 12 hour period, then you can offer small pieces of white meat chicken. A little at a time & only giving more if he holds it all down. This can be done up to a week or so, but small amounts of his regular food can be offered to see if he vomits it back up. If he does well, then place him back totally on his regular diet to see if the vomiting starts again. If he refuses all food, or vomits up the chicken, then he needs to see his vet for a diagnosis of what might be going on. Is this infectious, inflammatory or has he swallowed something that is causing the vomiting? Cats will sometimes vomit for several days in a row if there is a lot of hair in their upper GI, but that often resolves in a few days, & their appetites remain normal. If anything at all concerns you, please talk with your veterinarian. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
