My dog's eye looks like a sty and is getting worse. Is it cherry eye?

My chiwawwa has a sty in his eye its seems ro be getting bigger I bought some eye gel and it seems to have gotten worst

Hello. That is not a sty. That is a prolapsed third eyelid gland. It is also known as a “cherry eye”. This can be a congenital issue or a result of inflammation/ infection in the eye. Most cases require surgery to correct and put the gland back in it’s normal position and secure it with stitches. Some will resolve with prescription eye drops that you need to obtain from your veterinarian with an eye exam. It is never a good idea to put over the counter medication in the eye unless your veterinarian specifically recommended it. Try to get an appointment with your veterinarian early in the week, but it does not require an emergency clinic visit. If it is congenital, the same thing may occur in the other eye at some point.
