What trusted dry dog food is best for my active Siberian Husky?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 70 lbs

I have a female siberian husky who's at a healthy weight and gets 1 to 2 walks a day (2 miles) plus run of the yard and play time. I am desperately trying to figure out what dog food I can trust for her. After the whole FDA grain free report and the discussion that followed I am hoping for someone with expertise to recommend some trusted dry dog foods. Please and thank you!

Anything that is balanced and follows AAFCO standards should be good. If you're looking for heavily tested/reputable foods. Science Diet is always a good choice. Other brands such as Nutro are also well-balanced and have a variety of diets that you can tailor to your dog. I would avoid grain-free unless Kira has a specific allergy to an ingredient. If she's very active, looking into a high protein/performance diet may also be a good idea, but this is usually only for dogs that are working all day/athletes, etc and isn't really needed for a pet dog.
