Why is the white part of my dog's eye covering her pupil suddenly?

hi my dog has a strange left eye. it is almost like the white part is covering her eye. this has only happened today. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 4 years and 11 months old

Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a moderate to severe conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A corneal injury is possible. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.
