You can discuss allergy testing with your veterinarian or you can do a food elimination trial. A food trial involves feeding a novel protein/carbohydrate diet for a minimum of 8 weeks, sometimes as long as 12-16 weeks. During this time, the pet can get no other foods. This is done to determine if a diet does/does not cause an allergic reaction.
