Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Female | spayed | 13 years and 8 months old | 20 lbs
My dog, a greyhound is now 13+. She is terrified of vets, When she goes into a vets she starts to shake, she loses all strength in her back legs to the extent she can't support herself and she will start to gasp for breath. It is getting to the situation that she comes out of the vets in a much worse condition than when she went in. Is there any way to help her overcome her fear?

I think it is best to find a vet that will make house calls. Most pets are more comfortable in their own environment. The only other suggestion would be to take her to the vets office like once or twice a week just for a visit and to get treats. Take the treat she likes the most and let the staff feed her and pet her. Then go home. If you make going there a good experience when nothing gets "done" to her she will be less likely to be scared when something is actually going to happen.
