Pet's info: Cat | American Bobtail | Male | neutered | 8 months and 11 days old | 7 lbs
Hi! My kitten is 8 months old, we’ve had him for 6 months, adopted from a shelter. He was litter box trained when he arrived and we haven’t had any accidents until now. He has peed off the side of the box twice and is now pooping near but not inside the box. This has never been an issue. I’ve ordered a larger litter box as I’ve read that could be the issue. I’m also using the same brand of litter with a different scent, which could maybe also be the issue. I can’t tell if he’s stressed or not!

This first thing to do is have Larry examined by the veterinarian and checked for a bladder infection or abnormal stool. Bring in a fresh stool sample for the doctor to examine. Any pain related to the BM or urination could cause him to suddenly stop using the box. I hope this helps.
