Why is my dog panting and hot? Could she be coming into heat?

Hi, my Jack Russell is panting slot , hot head and just not normal, she does have a wet nose, she is walking fine and pooping and peeing, could just be coming into heat? It is Sunday so I was going to see if she gets any better by Monday and take her to the vet. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks Steve

Just coming into heat would not normally be associated with panting (although mild behavior changes are possible). I would keep her cool and well rested with plenty of fluids - if she develops any additional signs of fever such as reduced appetite or lethargy I would recommend an urgent care visit
