We have an 8 year old Rottweiler American Bulldog dog who has been shaking his head for the past 2 weeks and now has a cough and green mucus that occasionally comes from his noes. We have been using baking soda soaked cotton balls in his ear. Is there something else and is this ok?

Hi, and thanks for your question. This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or possibly to a rhinitis (inflammatory, allergic, infective). The presence of green discharge from the nose is particularly concerning. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.
