My dog keeps biting paws. Is it allergies? Can I treat it at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog keeps biting at her paws. & When I look at them, I don't see anything on her skin or fur. Is this an allergy? If I can solve this with at home care, I would like to.

This is likely allergy if there is no inciting cause. The paws look very inflamed so it may be time to go to the vet. First you could try giving her some antihistamine tablets and bathing the paws daily in an oatmeal based shampoo. If this does not help then you should head to the vet.
