My puppy 5 1/2 months has recently got a bald spot on forehead between ears . Dog is Bavarian mountain hound Igor from Russia 3 weeks ago. At Time of delivery she had small mark looking like she was bite by another puppy. Now this area has grown to about size of quarter and is hairless. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 17 days old | 25 lbs

The first is a skin scrape to rule out any mites in the skin. There is a mite called demodex that is normal and lives in the hair follicles. Puppies can experience an overgrowth creating bald spots.
