My baby bearded dragon won't eat crickets. Why is he refusing food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hey! My name is Taryn. My baby bearded dragon, Otho, has been with me for a month now. He was eating super well- usually a bunch of crickets and a couple calciworms. For the past few days however- he's stopped eating? He shows little to no interest in his crickets or even his buffet blend treats. He doesnt seem to be impacted- I have found recent poop in his viv. His lighting is correct, and I had him on a schedule. He shed a week ago too. I don't have a clue why he would stop eating????

Check the temperature in his enclosure. Low temps may affect appetite in reptiles. Survey the area in and around the enclosure for any negative stimuli. This can include his reflection in the glass, loud noise/vibration, bright light or strong drafts. Continue to offer prey and offer different prey such as dubia roaches or freshly molted mealworms (they are softer). These guys can be moody, so it may be a phase.
