My dog has a spot on its nose. Is it a burn, chemical, or infection?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

This spot just appeared on our dog's nose area. We are unsure if it's a burn or exposure to a chemical. Please advise.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Judging from the picture, this looks like it could be a skin infection (fungal or bacterial). I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. An oral antibiotic or antifungal may be needed along with topical therapy. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. If you are unable to get to your veterinarian right away, you can try and use Malacetic conditioning spray, which can be found online quite easily and apply twice daily until resolved.
