My puppy has fleas and nothing works. What's the best solution?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 28 days old | 10 lbs

My Maltese puppy who is about 9 months has been getting a lot of fleas and since she has lots of fur it’s been hard to get rid of them. We have tried everything from shampoos, sprays, gels, chewable tablets, and nothing is working. What should I do and what would help with getting rid of the fleas and eggs permanently?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! She is so adorable!!! The best combination is using Bravecto on Frontline plus as a preventative and using Capstar added on to kill as many fleas as possible. The Capstar can be used daily to effect. Also, it is very important to vacuum the house and objects in contact with her daily. This is very likely to help. Good luck and have a good night!
