Basically, my best friend had her friends over for Prom night, and there were 7 of us in the house and her cat freaked out to the point where she was hissing vigorously and had to be locked into the bathroom after a huge struggle. Shes never done this with groups of people before and we were trying to find reasons why that would happen. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years old | 16 lbs

Cats are very territorial animals and when there is a stressful event or too many people in a cat's environment, this can lead to behavioral changes. If there were a lot of strangers in the house, this can be over stimulating for any dog or cat.
