Why is no grain dog food advertised as being healthy? How much grain should a dog have in their diet? Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | neutered | 8 years and 1 month old | 90 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Great question. There is no scientific evidence that grain free diets are any better than diets with grain in it. You do not have to measure the amount of grain as there is no downside in feeding diets with grain. As long as you get a high quality diet like the ones made by Science Diet or Royal canin, he should be fine. Good luck and have a great day!
