Unfortunately fleas only hop on the body of your cat when they want to feed, then they hop off again and stay in your pet's environment. So you need to treat all pets in the household as well as the environment (which contains the fleas, their eggs and larvae). Flea treatment: 1) Get some flea medication such as a Flea spray or a spot on from a pet shop or your veterinarian and apply monthly 2) get flea powder, put some in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum your house and furniture and also non-carpeted areas frequently to remove flea larvae and eggs which live off house dust., Dispose of the bag in the trash outside. Hot-wash all the pet's bedding, If you do this diligently for a few months you will get rid of the fleas. Flea products: Spot-ons: Advantage, Advantage Multi Frontline (ticks as well) Bravecto spot on (ticks as well) - for cats Revolution Tablets: comfortis (will only kill fleas once) Collar: Seresto (ticks as well) They all work well. Just make sure that you get the package that specifies "for cats"

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! For cats I really like Bravecto and Frontline as preventative medications. The advantage of Bravecto is that it is administered every 3 months. Good luck and have a good night!

The best way to get rid of fleas is to treat both the cat and the house. Get a spot-on treatment from your vet, like Revolution, Frontline, Bravecto, etc. Some of the products found in pet stores are not effective and the fleas are resistent to the medication. You will also need to treat your house with a product that has a growth regulator to prevent flea eggs from maturing into fleas. Fleas can be frustrating and it can take some time to get the problem completely under control.

What beautiful cats!! I recommend getting a flea prevention product from a veterinarian and treating all the cats every 3 weeks for at least three months. I would also get a product called Knockout Spray to use in your home. It will kill adults and eggs then you vacuum the home and wash all bedding in hot water. You have to continue treating the cats with a Veterinary product for 3 months in a row to be effective. Good luck and kisses to your fur babies!!
