Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 10 lbs
Hi. My 1 & 1/2 year old cat Fili throws up ALOT. He will go in spurts of being fine for 2 weeks and then throw up to 5-6 times in one day. I’m worried and not sure what to do. My vet wasn’t very helpful and just gave me cat lax. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting is sometimes seen with conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis and chronic kidney disease, among many other conditions. Given Fili's young age and the fact that he is otherwise doing fine, dietary indiscretion appears more likely. It may be something as easy as just changing his diet to something that he can tolerate better. However, an examination by a veterinarian as well as minimal diagnostic data would be needed to rule out more concerning things. You can start by changing his diet to a sensitive stomach type diet. If no improvement, have him examined by a veterinarian to start therapy if needed based on findings. Good luck!
