Is Seresto safe for my cat after Frontline? Flea & tick concerns.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

I have been using Frontline + on my 10 1/2- 11 yr old cat. I have ?'s about the Seresto collar. 1 How long do I wait after the month is over after using Frontline?(don't want to overdose her). 2 Where do the dead fleas & ticks go?(She is mostly an indoor cat. She is out more in the summer which is only4 months here). 3 Can live fleas & ticks jump off in the house? (She sleeps in bed with us & under the covers). 4 Can we cuddle her without it rubbing on us or causing us harm? 5. What is REPEL?

Hello. 1. The collar can be put on immediately after the Frontline is done. 2. Dead fleas fall off the pet or may be groomed off. Cats are very efficient at doing this. 3. Fleas prefer to spend their entire lives on a pet, but this does not mean one may jump off its host onto someone else. Once a tick attaches, it remains there until it is full of blood or detaches to move to another host or dies. 4. The Seresto collar has no odor nor any residue that comes off. My two house dogs & house cat all wear this collar. I love them. 5. Repel means to keep or force away, so the Seresto collar discourages fleas & ticks from setting up on a pet.
