My dog keeps scratching at her face. She seems to get better with Benadryl. Is this normal for allergies? Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 75 lbs

Allergies can cause dogs to lick and scratch. She could also have an ear infection in addition to allergies so it would be a good idea to have her examined by a vet to determine the exact cause, especially if there is any discharge in her ear or an abnormal odor. She may need to stay on an anti-histamine long term, especially if it seems to help.
