My dog's eye has discharge and is squinting. Is it infected?

Thank you for posting the picture. Do you see how she is squinting it as well? A squinting eye is a painful eye and a painful eye is an ocular emergency. Especially in a pug. There is a good chance that there could be an ulcer on the cornea which is painful and can threaten the eye if not treated quickly. Pugs also develop glaucoma wish is also painful and threatens vision. Please have her seen soon. In the meantime you can use a warm water compress to soak the discharge away, but be careful to not put much pressure on the eye. If there is a deep ulcer the eye could rupture.
