Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 months and 10 days old | 13 lbs

Ate a piece of pee pad. Called vet and said can’t give recommendations on the phone. I cannot afford a vet visit right now. I don’t want nothing to happen to him. Please help.

Hi there. If you aren't able to take Luke in to your vet's office, then I'm afraid all you can do at home is monitor him for any problems. He may vomit up the piece of pee pad on his own, or it may pass through his system without causing any issues. The main thing to be concerned about is the possibility that it could get stuck in his intestines and cause a blockage. Symptoms of this problem would include repeated episodes of vomiting, not wanting to eat, acting lethargic, and not having bowel movements. If he develops any of these symptoms, then I'm afraid there is no other option besides taking him to see a vet urgently, as he may need emergency surgery to remove the obstruction. As long as he is acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry. You can monitor his stool for the next few days to see if the pad passes.
