Why is my budgie's poop big, smelly, and stuck to his tail?

Hello, for the past 2 weeks, ive noticed a few changes in my budgie. His poops are bigger and a little bit smelly. There is a bunch of poop gathered under his tail. Can you please tell me if it is serious. His behaviour is normal as usual. Thank you. Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | 3 years and 9 months old

Thanks for reaching out about Twitter. Not sure if this is serious but does indicate the need for a veterinary visit. Metabolic disorders, intestinal infections or parasites, and other causes are possible. Clean the tail area to prevent fecal build up. Good luck.
