Why does my cat suddenly have a scab on her nose that won't pick off?

My cat was fine this morning but as she was sleeping and I looked over at her this afternoon she has this scab on her nose that won't pick off. I never seen this before either. She is a black cat, 4 years old.

Hi. Poor Melanie. It is hard to tell what that is. Could be fungal, bacterial, or some immune mediated condition. I would recommend an exam and some skin testing with your veterinarian to start. It will help determine the potential causes. Good luck
