Why is my dog pacing, panting, and crying when he tries to move?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 80 lbs

For the past 2 days my dog has been constantly pacing and panting. He cannot lay down or jump. If he tries to lay down or jump he cries like he is in a lot of pain. He is only 1 year and 9 months. He is part Golden retriever and Sharpei. I feel so helpless. I dont know how to help him.

If Flash is crying, he is likely in pain. The panting may also indicate pain. The pain could come from many places but a neck or spine injury is common. Flash needs to be examined by the veterinarian since only a physical exam will begin to narrow down the problem. He can also get medications to help alleviate pain from the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
