My cat has a crusty scab on his back, but acts normal. Should I worry?

My cat got this crust-like thing on his back. He is eating and drinking normally and does all of the things he usually does. Is this thing something I should be worried about?

That looks like some sort of scab, but it's hard to tell from only a photo. If the area seems to be healing and isn't bothersome, I would keep it clean and dry, and use an Elizabethan (cone) collar to keep Kitcat from bothering it. If it grows in size, swells, looks irritated, doesn't heal, or worsens, having a vet take a look is best to rule out more serious issues.
