My pug puppy's eye is swollen and pink. Could it be cherry eye?

My 3 month old puggi;s eye is extremely irritated. The left inner corner of her eye is swollen and pinkish.

I am sorry to hear about Nova! From this photo it looks like she could have a prolapse of the gland if the third eyelid, also called “cherry eye”. I would recommend an exam at the vet to see if this is indeed the issue and discuss treatment options, which may include surgery if this is bothering her.     Sadie is so cute! It looks like she may have cherry eye, which is a disorder of the third eyelid. I'd bring her into the vet int he morning to get it checked out and to discuss treatment options. Best of luck.

    This does indeed look like cherry eye which occurs from a weakness in the cartilage of the eyelid (not any result of infection/irritation). It can be manually replaced but in most cases surgical repair is required as it will keep recurring
