We took in a stray cat who was very rough looking. We treated him with over the counter flea and de wormer that we put in his food (all natural). He now has ear mites in both ears! We don’t know what to do because he is so scared that he won’t let us too close. He was clearly abused. What options do we have? Anything we can put in his food?

I am sorry to hear about your kitty. Unfortunately there isn't anything to put into a cat's food to help treat ear mites. If you aren't able to put medication into the cat's ears, there are some products that can be applied topically to the skin between the shoulder blades that can treat ear mites, so you might consider one of these (in the US these products are called Revolution and Advantage Multi and are only available via a veteriniarian). You can read more about ear mites and their treatment at http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=664
