My tiny dog ate a chocolate Easter egg. Is this an emergency?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 7 months old

Hi my dog just ate a whole chocolate Easter egg candy (about 9oz) she only weighs about 2 pounds at the most, should I be concerned and what should I look for?

Yes, I would be very concerned about this and recommend you take her to a vet immediately. They can induce vomiting and give treatment to prevent life-threatening complications. Signs of toxicity are hyperactivity, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors and seizures. Candy is expected to have all of these signs if not treated soon enough. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done at home for this. She will need to go to the emergency vet. I hope that helps and all is well with Candy.
