My dog's surgery incision has pus and is open. Is it infected?

My dog had an operation 5days back and now his incision has accumulated pus n its slightly open.n he doesnt let us to touch it to give medicine but he is taking medicines.m worried for him will he be okay

Hi there. I agree that the tissue around the incision looks a bit red and swollen, and there does seem to be some yellow or greenish discharge present as well. These are often signs of an infection, so I would recommend taking him back in to your vet for a recheck. He may need to be put on antibiotics while he's healing to treat the infection.
