I have a border collie mix and for flea protection I use the seresto collar but she still continuously scratches. Does the collar not work because she has long hair? Should I switch to another form of prevention?

Be sure to read the package insert to ensure you are putting it on correctly. It needs one snug but not too tight. The seresto collar works really well from my experience. She could be itching from other types of allergies or as a secondary reaction from the fleas prior to using the collar. You could try Benadryl twice a day to see if it helps. See link below. If it isn’t improving I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to determine the cause of the itching and make sure she doesn’t have anything else going on. They will also be able to start her on stronger allergy meds and antibiotics if needed. I hope this Helps and she starts to feel better soon. https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/
