I have a female black cat short hair and she has got circular bald patches on her back legs and on the back parts of her front paws some look ok but some have dry skin and getting worse I don't know what to do as can't afford treatment at the moment

It’s impossible to say exactly what the cause is without being able to exam Lola and to preform some basics tests. Hairloss like you described could be ringworm (which humans can get), an allergic reaction causing the skin to be itchy or unhealthy, or could even be something like obsessive grooming which is a behavioral issue. The other issue is that cats groom so applying topical treatment is tricky since they will generally lick it off. First pay attention to if Lola seems itchy. Being itchy is more likely to indicate pathology. You can also start her on an omega 3 fatty acid for cats. This will improve her coat and skin health. Diets like Nutro and Royal Canin tend to be better for pets who are prone to skin issues so switching her diet may help a lot. If you notice that her skin is still getting worse, then try to figure out a way to get her to the veterinarian. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
