My dog has a lump on her paw. Should I go to the emergency vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 61 lbs

My dog has a lump on her paw. It showed up about a week ago and is not starting to look infected. We tried a warm compress and some hydrogen peroxide and it doesn’t seem to help. We can’t get her into the vet until later this week so I’m not sure if we should Bring her to the emergency vet hospital. She’s still eating, peeing/pooping, and is acting the same

This appears to be a histiocytoma tumor. It is not an emergency. Just get her to your vet for an exam in the next week or so. Here is a link to an article about these tumors: ( https://www.vin.com/veterinarypartner/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952066 ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.
