My dog has a bump near her spay incision. Is it a dissolving stitch?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 months and 17 days old | 11 lbs

Fixed 11-27-18 tbis spot popped up yesterday it looks like an ingrown hair spot only its where a dissolvable stitch would be what can i do for her should it be okay ? Dissolve on its own ?

I would watch the spot. It the reddening around it spreads, you should have your veterinarian examine it. Stitches dissolve via inflammation, so it is possible that the body is trying to get rid of the stitch via an abscess rather than dissolve it via an inflammatory reaction.

    That looks like a small stitch abscess that is probably located where the knot is for the stitches in the layer of tissue just beneath the skin. The incision would have had 3 layers of closure-- muscle layer, fatty tissue layer then skin. The stitches in the bottom layers can take a long time to completely dissolve, especially at the knot. Sometimes, a small area of infection will develop at that spot. It may burst open on its own, leak a tiny amount of pus and then heal over and be fine. You can also have the vet recheck the area to be sure. This is not because you or your dog did anything wrong post-op....sometimes it just happens.
