Hello! Just recently got a puppy and am struggling on which flea/tick and heartworm prevention to use! I've heard good/bad things about the Seresto collar and Trifexis which is what I have been considering. Just trying to figure this whole dog parent life out! Thanks!

If you have a tick problem I recommend Heartgard for heartworm prevention and bravecto for fleas and ticks. That is the most economical combination of oral medications at the PetCo clinics. Trifexis doesn’t do ticks so you would need another product as well. I prefer not to use a collar or topical for flea and tick prevention, especially if you have children around. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Chester.
