Pet's info: Dog | Chorkie | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 1 day old | 8 lbs
I already asked a question and got a little help but I’m not sure if there is a way to reply... long story short my 8 month old puppy’s canine tooth fell out when we were playing tug. I am concerned it may be an adult tooth but I’m hoping it’s just a baby tooth. Is it normal for an 8 month old chorkie to still be losing any teeth (canine tooth inparticular). Her mouth barely bled and she didn’t seem in pain; she continued to play and try to rough house. Here is a pic of the tooth, hope it helps

Thank you for using Pet Coach! In general dogs should lose their canines between 5-6 months of age. However, some small breed dogs have canines that are very stubborn and don’t fall out. Occasionally we have to end up pulling these baby teeth. From the photo I suspect it is a baby tooth. If you have any concerns I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Puppies loose their teeth anywhere from 4-8 months and should have all of their adult teeth by 8-9 months. Therefore, it is totally normal that his tooth came loose and fell out. If there is a little bit of bleeding, this is totally normal too. No need to worry, sounds like you are monitoring Prince well!

Yes, no worries. Puppies loose their puppy teeth, just like babies do. Apollo should continue to lose teeth until around 6 months of age, at which point he should have all his adult teeth in place. : ) Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and take care of your puppy Apollo moving forward.
