What shampoo is safe for puppy's irritated skin after flea meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Morkie | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 20 days old | 4.5 lbs

Hello, just looking for advice. Our puppy has some sort of skin condition and has received flea drops, flea and more tablets, and antibiotics for his skin. I wanted to bath him but didn’t want to use a product that would further irritate his skin. Any advice would be appreciated.

I recommend a mild hypoallergenic shampoo. That should soothe and cleanse the skin and not reduce the effectiveness of the flea topical. The skin will heal as long as you are controlling the fleas and treating the infection. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Merlin.
